Arbaeen Walk a Great Opportunity to boost Islamic Integration

The Shia cleric asserted , “we should note that such ceremony in itself and this Arbaeen walk has a significant capacity to strengthen Islamic unity and human convergence. That is, during this walk, we can somehow see the dignity of humankind; people from all walks of life participate in this huge procession, and this proves that such phenomenon has the capacity to create an important convergence in society, and we should specifically use this capacity for boosting unity among Muslims and human society in general.”

Hawzah News Agency- Hujjat al -Islam Hamidreza Motahari, Head of the Association of Historical Research at the Islamic Seminary had an interview with Hawzah News during which he emphasized the Arbaeen walk is considered a significant and effective phenomenon in order to create convergence and strengthen unity among the Muslims of the world, and stated,” We must use media and cyber space to strengthen the dimension of convergence and unity of this phenomenon as much as we can, because no matter how successful we are in this regard, we have helped to improve its effectiveness using this massive procession.”

He added, “It should be noted that this walk and the presence of people in Arbaeen Procession is not exclusive to Shiites or Muslims, even non- Muslims may participate in this great walk. Now, some people may participate with a special intention, but in my opinion, some non-Muslims attend this ceremony in order to dignify this procession.”

The Shia cleric went on, “Therefore, we should note that such ceremony in itself and this process of Arbaeen walk has a significant capacity to strengthen Islamic unity and human convergence. That is, during this walk, we can somehow see the dignity of humankind; people from all walks of life participate in this huge procession, and this proves that such phenomenon has the capacity to create an important convergence in society, and we should specifically use this capacity for boosting unity among Muslims and human society in general.”

A member of the scientific faculty of the Research Institute of Islamic Sciences and Culture also stated,” It is enough to look at the crowds of people on different routes leading to Karbala during Arbaeen walk and see who is present on these routes and what they are doing. You might see some people who do service work that they definitely do not do in normal times, other than Arbaeen walk; But these same people undertake and do the smallest to the biggest work during the Arbaeen walk, and this shows the high capacity that the Arbaeen walk represents.”
